Google to Expand Mini Products

Posted by Harsha

Google, the number-one search engine in the world, today announced Google Mini, an enterprise search appliance.

The concept of Google’s enterprise product line is to support companies with internal search requirements.

Companies can now add search capabilities to their website or network and index up to 50,000 pages and documents and costs only $1,995,it is the most affordable solution.

According to industry reports, Google serves approximately 3,000 corporate clients. Unfortunately, the company declined to comment on specific figures. The search company has also doubled its revenue from corporate customers last year.

Though Google is safe in the enterprise market, Oracle also announced its enterprise search appliance called Secure Enterprise Search, which is expected to compete against the search giant’s offerings. There’s no news of enterprise search appliances from Yahoo! or Microsoft.
