Posted by Harsha

Wi-Fi capable digital cameras are set to become obsolete even before they hit the market shelves.

Sandisk added wireless capability to PDA in the form of SD Wi-Fi flash memory cards.
Now EyeFi has just developed a similar type of product for Digital Cameras. EyeFi is a Wi-Fi enabled SD Flash memory card for making those common digital cameras into a Wi-Fi enabled cameras.

Their first 1GB EyeFi card is compatible with any digital cameras as long as it supports SD card slot. The card has a builtin Wifi features to transfer the photos from the camera to PC. The EyeFi card is expected to be same price as 1GB flashcard sells at $100.

Eyefi in your digital camera, makes you upload photos to Flickr, Webshots, BubbleShare or your Mac account without a need for your computer. If your Camera can shoot videos, you can upload your videos directly to YouTube and other sites without a computer.
