United Online a leading provider of consumer Internet(NetZero) and media services, announced the upcoming June 1st launch of PrivatePhone. PrivatePhone is the first free Internet phone service to offer a free phone number and voicemail that doesn't require the use of a computer to sign up or check messages. You can choose a phone number from almost all area codes in the US. and use it instead of your home or mobile phone number as a way to screen calls. This new free service is made possible by the company's voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology.

Calls to PrivatePhone will be answered by a voicemail. These voicemail messages can be retrieved online at the NetZero VoiceMessage Center or through a regular telephone. In order to access it through a phone first dial your PrivatePhone number, and press the * key . Then enter your PIN at the prompt and listen to your voice messages.

PrivatePhone service is not as good as the AIM Phones as you cannot receive incoming phone call unless you upgrade to NetZero Voice 100 & NetZero Voice Unlimited.
